David and Victoria Beckham are fast approaching the same net worth as King Charles III. The former Manchester United star and his pop singer wife, who have been wed for nearly 25 years, saw their wealth increase by an astonishing £45million between 2024 and 2025.
According to the Sunday Times Rich List, this brings their total up to a whopping £500m. Meanwhile, King Charles, who ascended to the throne following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, in September 2022, saw his own finances increase by £30m during the same period. His total wealth now stands at £640m - matching that of former Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his wife, Akshata Murty.
Beckham, who celebrated his 50th birthday earlier this month, amassed his wealth and fame through a distinguished football career. The right-midfielder emerged from the youth systems of Tottenham Hotspur and later Manchester United, before signing his first professional contract with Old Trafford in 1992.
After netting 85 goals and providing 121 assists in 394 appearances, winning six Premier League titles, four domestic trophies and a Champions League under the stewardship of Sir Alex Ferguson, Beckham transferred to Real Madrid in a £25m deal in 2003. After four years at the Bernabeu, Beckham spent the latter part of his career with LA Galaxy, had loan spells with AC Milan, and concluded his playing days with a year at PSG in 2013, reports the
David Beckham, the football legend, not only made his mark for England with 115 international caps but has also accumulated significant wealth beyond the pitch through various ventures and his illustrious celebrity status. His marriage to Spice Girl Victoria Adams further catapulted him into the limelight of mainstream media.
Beckham struck gold in 2021 by landing an £11m a year deal as Qatar's tourism ambassador on a contract that spans a decade. In addition, back in 2014, he grabbed headlines by exercising his option to purchase an MLS expansion team for £18m, which went on to become Inter Miami CF.
The franchise kicked off in the MLS to much fanfare in March 2020. More recently, Beckham, along with his former Manchester United comrade Gary Neville, Declan Kelly, and Lord Mervyn Davies, took ownership of Salford City.
Commenting on this venture, Beckham shared: "I grew up in Salford... I have such fond memories of my time living there and the place and its people played such an important part in my early life in football. Salford City is at the heart of its community... it has a rich history and I am delighted to be a part of the next chapter."
Additionally, Beckham's impressive wealth is bolstered by his personal brand empire, DRJB Holdings, which has been a lucrative endeavor for the star.
Victoria Beckham, meanwhile, first gained fame as a member of the 1990s pop sensation the Spice Girls, who have sold over 100m records globally and remain the best-selling girl group of all time. After her music career, Victoria ventured into the fashion industry, launching her own label, VB, in September 2008, followed by the Victoria Beckham Beauty brand in September 2019.
Despite the Beckhams' success, King Charles III is still £140m wealthier, largely due to his Sandringham and Balmoral estates. Additionally, managing the Duchy of Cornwall - a private estate established nearly 700 years ago to provide financial support for the heir to the throne - has significantly boosted his wealth.
However, this figure is dwarfed by the total net worth of the Royal Family, which was estimated at around £22bn in 2021, derived from various sources including the Crown Estate.
