In order to communicate with her husband Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo in his home tongue, Los Angeles actress Jessica Chastain has said that she is still working on learning Italian.

According to femalefirst.co.uk, Chastain and Gian Luca Passi de Preposulo have been married since June 2017 and have two children: a boy named Augustus and a daughter named Giulietta.

“I tried and I’m still trying to learn Italian, since it’s part of my family,” Chastain said in an interview with the Italian magazine IO Donna. “I still don’t feel confident enough to speak without difficulty,” she added.

In high school, I also took French for four years, but I regrettably can’t recall much. Unfortunately, you don’t learn much in the American public education system.

The 48-year-old actress and her family dwell in New York, and despite the political turmoil she has experienced since Donald Trump was re-elected as US president, she has never thought of leaving the country, even though it would be simple for her to go to Italy.

“I’ve loved New York since my first visit, which was during a school trip when I was still a high school student in California,” Chastain said. My favorite city in the world is New York. I like hearing so many various languages and dialects as I go around the streets.

The city eliminates class distinctions at least twice a day when everyone, including me when I bring my kids to school, uses the subway. This is one of the many things I like about the city.

“I understand that, particularly when it comes to immigration, living in the United States at this historical moment requires me to accept a lot of political declarations and judgments with which I disagree. However, I still think that the United States is a fantastic country, and I want to be a part of it. It would feel like giving up to leave. I also don’t give up easily, therefore I won’t quit up because of one sour fruit.”
