New Delhi: Suzuki has launched a new variant for the Access 125 and named it Access Ride Connection Edition. The new top-spec comes with Bluetooth enabled multi-function coloured TFT digital instrument cluster, giving it much more features. Aside from the technical side, the upgrade also has a Pearl Mat Aqua Silver colour scheme, along with existing colours matte black, matte blue, white and mint green.

The new variant sits above the Ride Connect trim and costs Rs 6,800 more. It is priced at Rs 1.02 lakh, and costs Rs 2,226 more than the Honda Activa 125, which also has a TFT display, which it got recently after being updated to meet the OBD2B norms. The new TFT-digital cluster, though, doesn’t mention the presence of any kind of navigation.

Deepak Mutreja, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd said that the Suzuki Access had been trusted in the urban settings for a while and the new update will be giving a new level of functionality. The Access 125 remains unchanged both mechanically and visually. It still runs on a single-cylinder, 125cc engine that is now compliant with OBD2.

It produces 10.2 Nm at 5,000 rpm and 8.3 horsepower at 6,500 rpm. Suzuki claims that this engine will return a fuel efficiency figure of 46 km/l.

Suzuki is also closing on launching an all-electric Access in the near future and is likely to be called e-Access. The scooter was first revealed in the Bharat Mobility Global Expo at the start of the year. Suzuki’s first electric two-wheeler in India, the eAccess can be expected shortly.

Suzuki, for a while, has been one of the trusted brands when it comes to everyday driving city two-wheelers. The brand is in the top five in the market shre. While still behind the likes of Bajaj, Honda, TVS and Hero Motorcorp, it has seen a rise in its market share inFY25 from FY24.
