Alisha Lehmann has claimed she has always been criticised for her feminine looks and nails. The former star is known for her glamorous appearance as well as her football abilities and has a huge presence on social media.
Lehmann currently plays for after following Douglas Luiz to the Italian club last year. The duo began dating in 2021 when they were playing for the Aston Villa women's and men's team respectively. But the Swiss player after replying to a social media post earlier this week.
Rumours began circulating about Lehmann's relationship status last month when Luiz was absent from her Serie A title celebrations.
She was then the subject of an online hoax as a fake exchange between the forward and Jack Grealish circulated on Instagram.
Incredibly, she of the bogus post on X (formerly Twitter), accompanying the image with a laughing face emoji. And she then posted a big red cross when one fan asked her: "What about Douglas Luiz?"
Lehmann started playing football during her childhood after being asked to train with the Young Boys boys' team in her homeland. And recalling her early days in the game, she stated: "When I was six or seven, I joined a club.
"As a child, I was very fast, faster than the boys. I started in my village and always wanted to play. The moment everything changed was when I joined Young Boys - I was 11 or 12 years old. At that time, we trained with the boys in the mornings and played with the girls on weekends."
She then explained how she had always been targeted by critics due to her appearance as she added: "I'm a girl - I'm feminine and I like nails. I'm not a full-back, I don't have to take throw-ins.
"People talk about these things too much, they don't influence what happens on the pitch in any way. I'm always criticised for these things. I don't care what they write."
Lehmann spent six years plying her trade in England after signing for West Ham in 2018. She had a loan spell with Everton in 2021 before joining Aston Villa later that year.
During her time with Villa, she reportedly earned £160,000 per year and was sponsored by Adidas and EA Sports. She was also believed to have signed a £928,000 agreement with sports beverage brand Prime.
The ace, who is part of the Baller League, has more than 16million followers on Instagram.
