In May 2025, Chrome users are receiving another security advisory from the Indian government, and the most recent problem impacts both Mac and Windows users in the nation. This week, the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team, often known as CERT-In, the country’s security arm, issued the fresh warning.
These dangers are common for Windows users, but Chrome is just as susceptible, and the latest version poses a serious risk to the millions of PCs that use the well-known web browser.
With a high-severity rating, the CERT-In bulletin dated May 16, 2025, discusses many Chrome vulnerabilities that hackers may remotely exploit. Due to inadequate policy enforcement in Loader and incorrect handles supplied in Mojo under unclear situations, Google Chrome has many vulnerabilities. By tricking a victim into visiting a carefully designed webpage, a remote attacker might take advantage of these weaknesses.
Although these problems may seem complicated, using Chrome itself exposes you to these dangers, and Google requires all of its users to download and install the most recent version of Chrome in order to patch the security flaws.
The Chrome versions impacted by these two security flaws are also included in the CERT-In bulletin:
According to the CIA, hackers may target any person or company that uses Chrome on a desktop computer running Windows or macOS.
The good news is that Chrome is aware of these problems and has already released a patch to close them. As a result, Chrome users on Windows may now get the stable channel update. We strongly recommend that customers immediately apply the latest Chrome fix and restart their computers.
