The Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, and Lucknow Super Giants are the only clubs still vying for a postseason berth. At the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday, Delhi lost to the Gujarat Titans by a margin of ten wickets. With two games remaining in their season, they are now at fifth in the rankings. However, the Delhi Capitals and the Punjab Kings will be the opponents of the Mumbai Indians in their last two games.

Regarding LSG, the team captained by Rishabh Pant will play on Monday when they meet Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. With three games left, LSG is still in the running, but SRH is already eliminated.

Explained: IPL 2025 Playoffs Qualification Scenarios

How to go into the IPL 2025 playoffs as a Mumbai Indian
If the Mumbai Indians win both of their remaining games and raise their total to 18 points, they will advance. They won’t have to rely on other tournament outcomes.

If the Mumbai Indians defeat the Delhi Capitals, they will still have 16 points and qualify. They would have to pray that Delhi loses to Punjab in their last match if they defeat DC and defeat Punjab Kings.

If MI loses both of its games, they will be eliminated.

How to go into the IPL 2025 playoffs with the Delhi Capitals
If DC loses their game against the Mumbai Indians, they will be eliminated. In the opposite case, they will require the Lucknow Super Giants to lose at least one of their last three games and Punjab to defeat Mumbai as well.

The Delhi Capitals would be eliminated from the playoffs if they lost both of their games.

How the Lucknow Super Giants can make it to the 2025 Indian Premier League playoffs
Lucknow must win the last three games and hope for some more assistance from other outcomes.

To go to 16 points in the rankings, LSG will need to overcome the Punjab Kings and defeat the Mumbai Indians. If the Mumbai Indians lose both of their games against the DC and Punjab Kings, respectively, they will still have a chance to finish in the top four.

The Pant-led team will need to ensure that they win both of their remaining games by significant margins if LSG and MI both reach 16 points.
