Lionel Messi is scheduled to make his second trip to India. Kerala Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman dismissed rumors on social media on Monday, stating that there was no uncertainty regarding the Argentina captain’s planned visit.
He said that in October or November of this year, the Argentine football player and his squad are anticipated to play in the state.
The minister dismissed persistent rumors, saying there should be “no room for doubt” about Messi’s arrival.
Abdurahiman referred to the ongoing conversations over the intended event as “unnecessary discussions” and asked the public to avoid starting any new disputes. “Any uncertainty is out of the question. There are a lot of pointless disputes on social media. We are proud to have a legend like Messi visit us. In response to a question, the minister said, “He and his team will visit here—either in October or in November.”
Abdurahiman denied media claims on Saturday that the Argentina national football team was “backtracking” from their planned visit to the state, claiming that the Lionel Messi-led squad will play a friendly game here in October.
According to the government’s announcement, the 2022 World Cup champions will arrive in the state. Reporter Broadcasting Company, the sponsor, would pay the sponsorship fee in accordance with its agreement with the Argentina Football Association (AFA), he had said.
Reporter Broadcasting Company Managing Director Anto Augustine also said that all of the requirements outlined in the contract by the AFA have been met and that a match date announcement is anticipated shortly.
Speaking about Messi, the renowned football player is nearing the conclusion of his career and is presently playing for Inter Miami in the USA. The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was part of Argentina’s preliminary team for their World Cup qualifiers against Chile and Colombia in June, even though he still plays for Inter Miami in Major League Soccer and other leagues.
