By using an online application system, the Uttar Pradesh Fire Department has simplified the process of getting the No Objection Certificate (NOC) for fire safety. The necessity for applicants to physically visit the department has been eliminated, as they may now apply from home and obtain their NOC in as little as 15 days.

The agency is also going through a technical reorganization to increase efficiency, and new positions will shortly be established to guarantee quicker emergency responses.

The introduction of a single-window portal and new regulations in 2024 have resolved several long-standing obstacles and made it easier to conduct business in the state. The Uttar Pradesh Fire and Emergency Services Act has also streamlined restrictions for low-rise structures.

According to ADG Fire Padmaja Chauhan, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath oversaw the 2018 implementation of the online NOC procedure. Currently, objections raised during application processing are resolved in a week.

Instead of concentrating on road setbacks, the department’s revised standards now place a higher priority on making sure fire tenders can quickly reach buildings. Road widths in places with ancient or narrow roads have been standardized to facilitate fire truck travel, and stair widths are decided by the population.

As long as the overall set quantity is maintained, flexibility has also been included with respect to the amount of water that must be stored, whether in above tanks or subterranean reservoirs.
