A KSRTC bus and a two-wheeler crashed on Monday morning in a fatal road accident near Kaggalipura on the Kanakapura Road in the Ramanagara district, killing a Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) and another person on the scene. Four more were seriously hurt.
Among the dead are a civilian and PSI Nagaraj, who worked at Bengaluru’s Electronic City Traffic Police Station. Three of the wounded are receiving treatment at Dayananda Sagar Hospital, while one has been taken to NIMHANS, according to police sources.
The accident happened close to Kaggalipura as the KSRTC bus was traveling from Kanakapura to Bengaluru. According to reports, the driver lost control of the car, causing it to swerve into the service lane and over the road divider. It collided with a two-wheeler that was transporting PSI Nagaraj and another individual. Both died immediately after suffering serious injuries.
Several passengers were hurt when the bus went off the road and crashed in a nearby ditch after the accident. According to preliminary investigations, the accident may have been caused by the KSRTC driver’s irresponsible driving and excessive speeding. The Kaggalipura Police Station has received a case, and an investigation is now in progress.
