From May 20 to 24, Langkawi will host LIMA, one of the leading defense and aerospace shows in the Asia-Pacific area. A special Indian Pavilion has been set up as part of India’s involvement, and Minister Sanjay Seth will formally open it.
The pavilion highlights India’s dedication to independence and technical innovation by showcasing its expanding defense industrial capabilities.
The Indian delegation includes a number of well-known Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs), including Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Limited, Bharat Dynamics Limited, BEML, and Gliders India Limited. Leading Indian commercial defense firms are also showcasing cutting-edge domestic technologies in the marine and aerospace industries.
In order to strengthen the nation’s maritime might and defense preparedness, India’s defense forces are represented at LIMA 2025 by important operational assets such as an Indian Naval Ship and a Dornier aircraft.
To further strengthen strategic and defense cooperation between the two countries, Minister Sanjay Seth is anticipated to have bilateral discussions with Malaysia’s Minister of Defence, Dato’ Seri Mohamed Khaled bin Nordin, on the sidelines of the event.
Under the Comprehensive Strategic collaboration framework, which was created during Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s visit to India in 2024, India and Malaysia continue to have a strong defense collaboration.
The foundation of this developing bilateral relationship continues to be defense and security cooperation.
Since its inception in 1991, LIMA has developed into a significant forum for global defense discussions, industrial cooperation, and technology sharing.
