The Indian Institute of Technology Madras has started two new BTech courses for the new session. Both these degree courses will be conducted in the Department of Applied Mechanics and Biomedical Engineering. The faculty of IIT Madras is considered to be at the forefront of research.

According to the information given by IIT Madras, students who clear JEE Advanced can choose these two programs in Joint Seat Allocation Authority Counseling. The special thing is that there will be 40 seats in each course.

1- Computational Engineering and Mechanics
The code of this BTech course has been kept as 412U. This is a four-year program, which will focus on digital engineering. In this, students will learn about computational technology and AI. It will connect traditional engineering with state-of-the-art computational equipment. The special thing is that this course will develop an understanding of computing and computational methods along with machine learning, data science. By taking this course, career options will increase for the students. In this, students will be able to turn to emerging areas with aerospace, robotics, automotive, and manufacturing.

2- B.Tech in Instrumentation and Biomedical Engineering

The code of this degree course is 412V. It is a four-year B.Tech program that will strengthen students in electrical and instrumentation engineering. This course will train to develop medical equipment by integrating biomedical engineering. Students pursuing this program will be able to create medically regulated, ethically sensitive solutions that address global healthcare challenges. This program will help graduates in various roles including entrepreneurship roles in the medical device industry, rehabilitation technologies and AI-driven healthcare systems.
