Kevin De Bruyne, a midfielder for Manchester City, said that he is not expected to participate in the Club World Cup because he is worried about being hurt before leaving the team.

After ten years at City, the 33-year-old will go after winning six Premier League championships, the Champions League, and the Club World Cup in 2023.

Although the Belgian’s contract is set to expire on June 30, which includes three Club World Cup games in the US, De Bruyne said that he would need to consider his personal interests.

In a sense, I believe that I must look after myself since I don’t know what I’ll do if I get hurt at the Club World Cup. After the FA Cup final, he claimed in statements published by The Athletic, “Nobody is going to take care of me at that point.”

“There’s a good likelihood that I won’t play it, but I’m not sure. All I am is a player. I have no say in the rules and am unable to change them. As I said before, I will most likely need to look after myself in the end.
