A crash on the M6 stopped traffic and has led to huge delays, according to National Highways. Traffic began building between J7, for Great Barr, and J8, for M5, following a collision at around 8am. The lanes have since reopened.

National Highways said: "Lanes 1 and 2 (of 4) have now reopened on the M6 northbound between J7 (GreatBarr) and J8 (M5). Lanes 3 and 4 remain closed whilst emergency services continue to work at [the] scene. We're now reporting delays in excess of 90 minutes on approach to the incident." A man and woman were injured in the incident which saw a vehicle overturn, but their injuries were not believed to be serious. Just before midday, National Highways confirmed that all lanes reopened following investigative and repair work.
