Suspense crime, Digital Desk : As replacement for the departing players on national duties, Mumbai Indians (MI) have brought in Jonny Bairstow, Richard Gleeson, and Charith Asalanka as provisional replacements. These changes come before the team’s last league game against the Punjab Kings on May 26 in Jaipur.
MI is only eligible to make these replacements if they qualify for the IPL 2025 playoff.
Player Substitutions Due to Other Obligations
MI has signed Jonny Bairstow for Rs. 5.25 crore as a substitute for Will Jacks who is joining England’s squad for the White ball series against West Indies from May 29.
Richard Gleeson at a retaining fee of Rs. 1 crore will replace Ryan Rickelton who’s been selected for WTC duties.
Charith Asalanka who was acquired at Rs. 75 lac will replace Corbin Bosch who is also set to join the WTC final for South Africa at Lords.
Bairstow who remained unsold at the IPL 2025 mega auction makes his return to the league with an opportunity to help MI’s playoff chances if they get the needed qualification.
