Former Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Dr Mr Srinivasan Passes Away

Former Atomic Energy Commission Chairman Dr Mr Srinivasan Passes Away News in Hindi: Famous scientist and former chairman of the Nuclear Energy Commission, MR Srinivasan, who made a significant contribution in India’s indigenous nuclear power program, died here on Tuesday. Family sources gave this information. He was 95 years old and has a wife and a daughter in his family.

The family said in a statement, “We are very sad to announce the demise of Dr. MR Srinivasan, former chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Dr. MR Srinivasan, the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE).”

The family said that Srinivasan joined DAE in September 1955 and started working with Dr. Homi Bhabha on the construction of the country’s first nuclear research reactor, Apsara.

He was appointed Principal Project Engineer in 1959 for the construction of India’s first nuclear power center.

According to the statement, “his leadership continued to shape the country’s nuclear program.” In 1967, he took over as the Chief Project Engineer of the Madras Atomic Energy Station (MAPS). ”

He held many important positions of national importance. These include the post of Director of the Energy Project Energy Department and Chairman of the Atomic Energy Board in DAE.

According to the statement, “In these roles, he monitored the plan, implementation and operation of all nuclear power projects across the country.”

The statement said, “In 1987, he was appointed Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission and Secretary of the Department of Atomic Energy. The same year, he became the founder-president of the Atomic Energy Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL). Under his leadership, 18 nuclear power units were developed – seven of which were operational, seven were under construction and four were in the phase of the plan. ”

Srinivasan was awarded ‘Padma Vibhushan’ for his outstanding contribution to India’s nuclear power program.
