Novak Djokovic has confirmed that Dusan Vemic will work with him heading into this month's French Open following his split from Andy Murray. The two all-time greats ended their four-month partnership, with the Serb having struggled for form since reaching the semi-finals of the Australian Open.

Vemic, 48, is a former professional player who himself played in the French Open. He's previously been part of Djokovic's coaching staff and will work alongside Boris Bosnjakovic, his assistant coach and analyst. Djokovic made the announcement during his press conference at the Geneva Open, ahead of his opening match with Marton Fucsovics tomorrow.

However, he also stressed that compatriot Vemic will not serve as his full-time trainer, and insisted he would not be rushed into any decision. He said: "At the moment, I'm not in need of a coach.

"I don't need to rush in any context. I feel comfortable with the people around me....in the next few tournaments, and we'll see what happens."

There were high hopes for Djokovic's working alongside Murray but the Serb's form dipped later into their exciting partnership. And he addressed their split during his press conference.

He added "We felt like we couldn't get more out of that partnership on the court, and that's all there is to it. My respect towards Andy remains the same, even more actually, I got to know him as a person.

"I think he has a brilliant tennis IQ, he has a very rare mind of a champion that obviously has achieved what he has achieved, and he sees the game incredibly well."

Djokovic will be desperate to kick on in Geneva this week as he goes in search of his 100th ATP title after withdrawing from the Italian Open. He hasn't won a single clay-court match so far this season and is looking to rediscover his form ahead of the French Open starting on Sunday.
