After over a year of intense planning, script revisions, and delays, Shah Rukh Khan and director Siddharth Anand have officially begun shooting their much-awaited action thriller ‘King’ at Mehboob Studios, Mumbai. According to PeepingMoon.com, the makers are targeting a Gandhi Jayanti 2026 release, aiming for a grand box office opening on the national holiday, which falls on a Friday.

A High-Stakes Holiday Release
“October 2 is an ideal date for a big-ticket Bollywood film,” a trade source revealed. “Given SRK’s phenomenal run in 2023, expectations are sky-high. A festive weekend release could help ‘King’ cross the 500-crore mark.” The film is already being positioned as a mega entertainer, much like Anand’s previous blockbusters.

Star-Studded Cast and Global Scope

‘King’ is described as a high-octane revenge drama, featuring SRK as a seasoned assassin. He joins forces with Suhana Khan, playing a pivotal role, after a tragic event changes her life. The film also stars Deepika Padukone as the female lead, while Abhishek Bachchan portrays the antagonist. The ensemble includes Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Abhay Varma, and Rani Mukerji.

The Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix co-production will be shot across India and Europe, giving the film a global appeal.
