Anna Leigh Waters and Anna Bright once again demonstrated their supremacy in women's doubles pickleball in the 2025 PPA Atlanta Championships.
With scores of 11-4, 11-7, and 11-3, the pair defeated Catherine Parenteau and Rachel Rohrabacher with ease, winning their first championship since getting back together this season.Their partnership, which was revived following Waters' split from Parenteau, has been strong. In the past, Waters and Parenteau had a successful run, winning 40 straight games and racking up 31 titles. But subsequent difficulties forced Waters to rejoin Bright, a decision that has improved their on-court performance. The competition is getting fiercer in spite of this comeback. Waters has suffered significant losses in women's doubles in 2025, particularly to Callie Smith/Etta Tuionetoa and Jorja Johnson/Tyra Black. These losses demonstrate how women's pickleball is changing and how up-and-coming players are posing a growing threat to long-standing champions. The JOOLA Scorpeus Pro IV paddle, which Anna Bright just switched to, has been said to improve her game and help the partnership achieve newfound success. All eyes will be on Waters and Bright as the season goes on to see if they can continue to dominate in the face of a growing field of competitors. In addition to highlighting their remarkable synergy, their recent victory in Atlanta also paves the way for an exciting season in women's doubles pickleball.
