Hollyoaks fans are convinced they know who really killed Tommy Odenkirk.

His shocking death was confirmed during Wednesday's (May 21) episode of the soap which is available to stream online now.

After Jez Blake (Jeremy Sheffield) encouraged him to relapse on drugs, Joel Dexter (Rory Douglas-Speed) found out through Leela Dexter (Kirsty-Leigh Porter) that Tommy had lied about his brother's death and Billy Odenkirk was in fact still alive.

Joel confronted Tommy at the flat about his discovery and he began violently attacking the fake therapist.

Joel woke up confused the next morning about what happened the previous night during the latest instalment but he soon spotted Tommy’s body and realised that he was dead.

Joel called Jez, who came round and discovered that he had killed Tommy. Secretly happy that his secrets will die with Tommy, Jez encouraged Joel to cover up the murder.

However, Joel then got a visit from his Marie Fielding (Rita Simons) and Leela, who decided to check on him following his relapse.

He briefly tried to hide his actions, but his mum and wife soon found Tommy. They gathered that Joel was planning to dispose of the body, as Tommy was wrapped in a rug. Marie encouraged this cover-up, as she was desperate not to lose another son.

But Leela was adamant that Joel should come clean and go to the police, and while he faced a devastating dilemma, he eventually chose to hand himself in.

As Joel was arrested off-screen for Tommy’s murder, Marie went to The Hutch and revealed her son’s unexpected fate – leaving Cleo shocked and Jez panicked.

Fans are now convinced that serial killer Jez murdered Tommy and framed Joel. One viewer posted: "do u think Jez killed Tommy coz Joel punched him then cant remember anything else."

Another replied: "Oh most definitely!!!! And Joel will start getting flashbacks about it in the cell I reckon! And remember that he saw Jez there and realise that the tapes were real." A third person said: "i wonder if Joel really has killed tommy though #."
