Mumbai: The newly launched Mumbai Metro Line 3, one of the city's most anticipated infrastructure projects, is already facing challenges just days after its inauguration. On Wednesday at 12:15 PM, Siddhivinayak Metro Station, part of the fully underground Line 3, wore a deserted look, particularly on Platform No. 1, which serves trains heading towards Worli and Acharya Atre Chowk.

Despite being part of a high-profile launch event on May 10, attended by Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, and Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, the station has seen extremely low footfall.

The Acharya Atre Chowk station, a key stop on the route, was expected to draw significant ridership. However, over a week after the inauguration, commuters appear to be missing from the platforms. Adding to the inconvenience is the non-functional ticket vending machine at Siddhivinayak Station, leaving passengers unable to purchase tickets easily. For those attempting to use the new line, the lack of ticketing facilities.
