Patna On Wednesday, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inspected the ongoing road and subterranean drainage projects along the city’s Saidpur Nala, highlighting their importance for reducing traffic and enhancing urban aesthetics.

The Chief Minister visited important locations such the Sheetla Mandir flyover, the drainage pumping plant hill, and Saidpur Nala with top officials, including Municipal Commissioner Animesh Parasar and Urban Development Secretary Abhay Kumar Singh.

We have already conducted many inspections of this location. During the tour, Nitish Kumar said, “It’s a very good scheme.”

He gave authorities instructions to expedite the building of a four-lane road across Saidpur Nala and guarantee that the rehabilitation is of the highest caliber.

He emphasized that in heavily populated regions like Saidpur, Rajendra Nagar, Musallahpur Haat, Gaighat, and Pahari, the project would significantly reduce traffic congestion.

When finished, it will provide a different path to the New Patna

Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (BUIDCO) has been tasked by the Bihar government with building the project. This section is 5.61 kilometers long overall, and it is expected to cost Rs 259.81 crore.

The combined construction of a road and subterranean drainage system over Saidpur Nala up to the hill region would transport wastewater from one Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) and nine drainage pumping stations, enhancing urban cleanliness and facilitating traffic flow.

Abhay Kumar Singh, Secretary, Urban Development; Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna District Magistrate; Kumar Ravi, Secretary to the CM; Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Minister for Water Resources and Parliamentary Affairs; and Deepak Kumar, Principal Secretary to the CM, were also present during the inspection.

The Chief Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving urban infrastructure and gave the relevant agencies strong instructions to adhere to quality standards and timetables for this major urban transportation project.
