Medical Colleges: The National Medical Commission (NMC) has cautioned students seeking admission in MBBS not to fall prey to any advertisement or other inducement. Take admission in a college only after thoroughly investigating its recognition. The degree of a college or university running a medical course without permission is not valid.

NMC Director Sukh Lal Meena issued this information on Tuesday and said that information about all the colleges is available on its website. He also mentioned those colleges in West Bengal and Rajasthan that have started taking admissions despite not having approval.

NMC said that Singhania University in Rajasthan, Sanjeevan Hospital and Medical College in Howrah are taking admissions while running medical courses without permission. Action has been initiated against one of these. Action will be taken against the other soon.

Inform if there is fraud.

Director Sukh Lal Meena said that NMC does not give direct admission to any medical college. NMC has also issued a phone number +91-11-25367033, where such fraud can be reported.

Those who studied abroad will not be able to appear for the license exam.

Warning those who studied medicine abroad, the commission said that if they do not fulfill the necessary conditions, they will be considered ineligible for the license exam FMGE, and the responsibility for disqualification will be entirely on them. Only after passing this license exam can one get the right to practice in India.
