As reported by Hindustan Times, the reality TV icon and entrepreneur achieved this milestone through California’s rare but legal apprenticeship pathway known as “reading the law,” which allows aspiring lawyers to study under practicing attorneys instead of attending law school.

Instead of following the conventional law school route, Kim took advantage of a California law that permits legal apprenticeships as a substitute. California, along with Virginia, Vermont, and Washington, is one of the few states that allow individuals to become lawyers without a law degree.
Her program required a four-year apprenticeship, working at least 18 hours a week, with five of those under direct supervision by a licensed attorney. In addition to practical training, the process also includes monthly tests and biannual reports submitted to the California bar. After six years of dedicated study, Kim completed her legal apprenticeship, allowing her to sit for the bar exam.
