Former Australian all-rounder Ben Cutting recently revealed an amusing but unexpected anecdote about his experience with the IPL 2016 final. Cutting, who had played a match-winning role for Sunrisers Hyderabad against RCB, informed that he continues to get about 150 private messages daily on Instagram from supporters requesting him to play again, particularly against RCB (Royal Challengers Bengaluru).

In an interaction with ESPNcricinfo, Cutting said:

"If I load up my private messages on Instagram now, there'll be 150 every day saying, 'Can you make yourself available for the IPL as a replacement player?' for any team that's coming up against RCB."

Cutting is best known for his remarkable all-round performance during the final of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2016, where he smashed an unbeaten 39 from a just 15 balls and picked up 2 crucial wickets. His boundary shots, particularly against Shane Watson, and decisive wickets of Chris Gayle (76) and KL Rahul (11), ensured Sunrisers Hyderabad their maiden and so far, only, IPL title.

Though he had played only four games that year, his contribution in the final ensured that he became an instant cult hero for IPL supporters, particularly those based in Hyderabad. For his match winning performance, the Aussie all-rounder was adjudged as the player of the matc. Meanwhile, the said match was another disappointment for RCB fans, waiting for their inaugural IPL championship.

Now in the final stage of his cricket career, Ben Cutting has ventured into real estate and owns a company by the name Golconda Property Group, named after a renowned fort at Hyderabad. Though not with cricket anymore, fans still recall him for that one magical night.

Cutting said that the Bengaluru final would always be one of the highlights of his life, bigger even than representing Australia. Though he did not get to represent his nation in Test cricket, he considers that evening in the his greatest sporting feat.
