New Leadership at OSSC

Bhubaneswar: On Thursday, the Odisha state government appointed Sudhakar Burgi, a retired IAS officer, as the acting chairperson of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) following the resignation of Abhay from the position, according to an official announcement.

Previously serving as a member of the OSSC, Burgi will now take on the role of chairman of the recruitment panel while continuing his existing responsibilities until further notice.

The government had earlier accepted the resignation of Abhay, a retired IPS officer, who had been serving as the OSSC Chairman since April 2022, shortly after his retirement as Director General of Police (DGP). His term was set for five years.

A notification from the General Administration and Public Grievance Department stated, “After careful consideration of the representation dated 19.09.2025 from Abhay, the government has accepted his resignation as Chairman of the Odisha Staff Selection Commission effective immediately.”
