Millions of Brits flock to Turkey each year, thanks to its beautiful coastlines, ancient cities, and mouth-watering cuisine. And ahead of what is expected to be a hugely busy summer for international travel, easyJet has shared some Turkey-specific guidance for holidaymakers.

As we know, it is crucial to be well-informed before taking any trip abroad. On its website, easyJet urges travellers: "Before you fly to Turkey please check that your passport is valid and meets the entry requirements shown on the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs or check your local consular advice, such as the FCDO website.

"Visas are not usually required for most EU Citizens or British Passport holders for tourist stays of less than 90 days in any 180 day period. However, there are exceptions such as service passport holders, or British Overseas Citizens, so please check up to date advice before you travel."

Official guidance from the Foreign Office states that British passport holders must ensure that their document is valid for at least 150 days post-arrival, with at least one blank page.

Advice contiues: "Renew your passport if you need to. You will be denied entry if you do not have a valid travel document or try to use a passport that has been reported lost or stolen."

It goes on to echo easyJet information, explaining that tourists can enjoy visa-free visits to Turkey for up to 90 days within any 180-day period for leisure or business, however, those wishing to extend their stay beyond this duration must secure a short-term residence permit.

Those visiting Turkey to work, study or for medical treatments, may need to apply for a visa.
