sporting director Deco has revealed that the club are admirers of forward and ahead of the summer transfer window. The champions will target a new winger as they prepare to retain their title and further their challenge in the .
Rashford was linked with a switch to the Nou Camp in January, reportedly pinpointing Barcelona as his preferred destination. No move materialised, though, and Aston Villa swept in to sign him on a short loan with the option to make it permanent this summer for £40million.
Villa haven't yet confirmed whether they plan to trigger that clause, opening the door for Rashford to leave Old Trafford for elsewhere.
He is expected to depart United for good as part of a ruthless summer exodus, made all the more critical after Wednesday's Europa League final defeat to Tottenham Hotspur.
And Deco hasn't simmered the speculation surrounding a potential switch to Spain by admitting that Barcelona are one of Rashford's suitors.
"We like Luis [Diaz], we like [Marcus] Rashford, and we like other players," Deco told .
"When we go to the market, there are names that we know and that could improve the team."
Diaz has contributed 17 goals and eight assists in all competitions this season, helping Arne Slot lift the Premier League at the first time of asking.
The Colombian has two years left on his Liverpool contract, and there has been no suggestion that the Anfield giants want to cash in.
Whether Barcelona opt for Rashford, Diaz or an alternative target, Deco insists the club's transfer priority is to secure the futures of some of their current players.
He added: "Our big priority is to strengthen what we have at home with the renewals of Pedri, Gavi, [Ronald] Araujo, Raphinha, [Jules] Kounde.
"I understand that when people talk about signings, they always think about players coming from abroad, but for me, renewals are also signings. Lamine [Yamal renewing] is the best signing in history.
"Then, if the team can be improved. From what we've seen this season, we need a player with a different profile to what we have to help the strikers.
"Fermin [Lopez] has played as a winger and has done well. The composition of the squad also depends on the market."
Hansi Flick will help oversee the club's summer recruitment after extending his contract until 2027.
