Mumbai: The BMC has undertaken the commissioning of a new surge pressure control tank at the Panjrapur pumping station on May 28, from 9:45 AM to 10:45 PM. During this 13-hour period, a 15% water cut will be implemented in the Island City and the eastern suburbs.

The water cut will also be applicable to the areas within the jurisdiction of Thane and Bhiwandi–Nizampur Municipal Corporations that receive water supply from the BMC.

The two civic wards — F South (Parel) and F North (Matunga, Wadala) — will entirely face 15% water cut. Several other areas will also experience reduced supply, including T Ward (Mulund East and West), S Ward (Bhandup, Nahur, Kanjurmarg, Vikhroli East), N Ward (Vikhroli, Ghatkopar East), L Ward (Kurla East), M East Ward (Govandi, Mankhurd), and M West Ward (Chembur).

The BMC has requested the citizens in the affected areas to use water sparingly and responsibly during this period as a precautionary measure.
