This Morning viewers were gobsmacked to discover Dermot O'Leary's age as the presenter celebrated his birthday on Friday (May 23).

As the show kicked off, co-host revealed that Dermot would be turning 52 tomorrow and said that they'd be celebrating throughout the episode.

"We're gonna be dancing into the bank holiday because, guess what? It's a certain someone's birthday this weekend. Who is it? I have no idea," joked Alison.

"Am I allowed to say how old you are?" she then inquired, with Dermot conceding: "Well, you're going to say it anyway because you love the fact that I am older than you."

Alison then praised him, saying: "He is an incredible, unbelievable, I mean he doesn't look it but he's 52 years old," reports .

Entering the weekend with a spring in their step, she declared, "We are dancing into the weekend," as they jived to Yazz and The Plastic Population's classic tune, The Only Way Is Up.

Alison then mentioned that she'd picked a personal track for Dermot.

"This is just for you because I love you very much. This song is for you, go for it," she said before Carly Simon's You're So Vain played into the studio.

"Thanks everybody," Dermot laughed as he started jokingly bowing to each camera.

"That's my favourite thing that you do, it makes me laugh. Literally, he comes into the studio and takes a bow for everyone before he starts the show, absolutely love it."

Dermot admitted he didn't have grand plans for his birthday, though he was thinking about going on holiday for a few days.

"I mean, it's a really big one, 52 and all," Alison jested as Dermot chimed in with: "Lovely thing is, you're just right behind me."

Alison wrapped up the exchange by saying: "I hope you have a lovely day. Obviously I'm not going to be with you, I'm gutted it's not your birthday today but I'm gonna make it your birthday today."

After watching the segment, fans were astonished upon discovering Dermot's age, with many expressing their amazement on X (formerly ).
