Udupi: Rain continued to lash Udupi district on Friday with strong winds, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for four consecutive days starting Saturday.
According to the IMD, the red alert will be in effect from the morning of May 24 to the morning of May 28, indicating a high possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall across the region.
Several parts of the district including Udupi city, Manipal, Kundapura, Karkala, Kaup, and Hebri witnessed continuous showers since early Friday morning.
