Patna: A great news has come to light for the ration card holders of Bihar. The beneficiaries who have not yet received the ration of May 2025 are now being given another chance. The Department of Food and Consumer Protection has taken this decision after those complaints, in which it was revealed that some beneficiaries could not take ration till the scheduled time frame.

The department has clarified that beneficiaries covered under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) can still receive the ration for the month of May through biometric verification. For this, they have to go to their nearest Public Distribution System (PDS) seller and for the first time biometric verification through e-pos machine.

Ration distribution also started for the month of June

Along with this, the department has informed that the distribution of ration for the month of June from 22 May 2025 has also started. The beneficiaries who have taken the ration of May, they can now get the ration for the second time by getting biometric verification.

At the same time, the distribution of ration of May was originally scheduled till 20 May. But due to the release of many beneficiaries, the department has provided this additional opportunity. All those who have not taken up the ration of May have not yet taken advantage of this.

Department appeal

The Department of Food and Consumer Protection has appealed to all ration card holders to get their ration in time and contact the local PDS vendor or concerned office in case of any problem. This decision is part of the effort of the state government under which food grains are being ensured to every needy.
