BBC Breakfast star Naga Munchetty was forced to apologise during the latest episode after her co-stars accused her of "bringing the mood down".
The 50-year-old was back at the helm on Saturday (May 24) alongside her regular co-host Charlie Stayt, 62.
During the show, Naga and Charlie were joined by sports commentator Mike Bushell, who was on hand to deliver the latest sports news.
But before he kicked off his segment, Charlie informed viewers that Mike had a connection with the previous report from Alexis Green, revealing that Mike and his daughter had adopted a penguin at Marwell Zoo, where Alexis had been presenting from.
Charlie said: "Well, as we were watching that, Mike joined us on the sofa, you have a connection with a specific penguin from that zoo!"
Mike replied enthusiastically: "Well, my daughter Sophie wanted to adopt a penguin, so you a pay a little bit- I don't know, a month or a year. Echo is our little penguin!"
As Charlie asked whether he would be able to recognise her, Mike told him "no" and explained that the last time they paid Echo a visit, she hid.
Naga then interjected as she made a morbid joke by saying, "Or it could go quite wrong if Echo is not there anymore."
Although Mike agreed with Naga, Charlie stepped in and said, "Well now you've brought the mood down, haven't you? " Realising her mishap, Naga giggled and said, "Sorry."
Mike then said: "Oh yes, well, shall we move on to the cup finals?" as he moved the segment along.
This isn't the first time Naga was forced to apologise following a slip-up. Last month, the TV star was accused of ruining a reveal.
Naga mentioned to Charlie: "We discovered a new word today 'quishing'." To which Charlie responded: "Yes. We didn't know that."
Naga added: "Never heard of it but Peter [Ruddick] is going to explain more. It's all to do with QR codes, morning Peter. On themes of fishing, squishing."
But Peter was far from impressed and snapped, "You've ruined my reveal."
BBC Breakfast airs Mondays-Sundays from 6am on BBC One.
