Noida: Great news for commuters! The much-anticipated Shahberi-Crossings Republik Road has been officially opened for public use. The completion of the road widening initiative has significantly improved traffic flow between Greater Noida West and Ghaziabad. This newly expanded road, now 15 meters wide, has been increased by 3 meters, with an additional 1.5 meters added to each side, aiming to provide a smoother travel experience for daily commuters and drivers.
In addition to the road improvements, a state-of-the-art drainage system has been installed at a cost of approximately Rs 4 crore. NG Ravi Kumar, CEO of the Greater Noida Authority, stated that residents and frequent travelers will experience considerable relief from severe traffic jams. The previous narrowness of the road was a major factor in prolonged travel times on this heavily trafficked route.
Due to redevelopment efforts, the 3-km route connecting Iteda to Crossings Republik via Shahberi was temporarily closed from March 25, 2025, for a duration of two months. This road is a vital passage for thousands of daily commuters heading to Noida, Delhi, and Ghaziabad. The authority has cautioned shopkeepers against encroaching on the newly renovated area, stating that strict measures will be enforced against any violations.
Reports indicate that the Authority is also working on a 720-meter-long, six-lane underpass on the Taj Highway. This development aims to alleviate traffic congestion between Greater Noida and the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, with completion expected within 18 months. As construction progresses at Gaur Chowk, traffic will be redirected through the Shahberi-Crossings Republik road.
