Former India player Mohammad Kaif has urged the fans to celebrate the Gujarat Titans vs Chennai Super Kings IPL 2025 match like a festival as it is likely to MS Dhoni’s last game as a captain and player in the cash-rich league. The 43-year-old with lead the five-time champions in their last contest of the 18th season at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

He hasn’t been able to contribute with the bat and his fitness issues are hampering his movement behind the stump. He hardly takes doubles and only relies on fours and sixes.

Ruturaj Gaikwad was the team’s captain but an elbow fracture ended his season midway and the team management handed over the captain’s armband to Dhoni. Mahi is tight lipped about his future and is currently focussing on assembling the squad for the next edition.

“Fans should celebrate the match between CSK and LSG like a festival as it could be MS Dhoni’s last match. He will enter the field for one last time as a captain and player. Give him love and paint the stadium yellow,” Mohammad Kaif said.

“He wants to win the last match. CSK is Dhoni and Dhoni is CSK. It is tough to play for three months after staying away from cricket for eight months. Dhoni understood it this year,”Mohammad Kaif added.
