An urgent recall has been issued for an sold by popular retailers over a "serious risk of fire". The UK's (OPSS) relating to the Haden 11L Double Stack Air Fryer previously sold by and The Range, both of which are owned by CDS Superstores.
According to the government department, the product "presents a serious risk of fire as the heating element exceeds 150 degrees (the marked limit). After prolonged use on the highest setting, the plastic and metal parts can warp and melt, presenting a risk of fire." The OPSS, the national product regulator, says the product does not meet the requirements of the Electrical Equipment (Safety) Regulations 2016 and has been recalled from "end users", i.e. users of the product.

A shared on both The Range and Wilko's Product Safety Recall pages informs customers that the product "has been recalled as some units have suffered melting of the outer plastic casing when used under prolonged high heat settings".
"Touching the hot plastic could result in burn injuries and it is a potential fire hazard," the notice adds.
Customers who have bought the product are urged to stop using it immediately and return it to any Range or Wilko store where they can get a full refund or store credit, the retailers also say.
"If you know someone else who has purchased this product, please ask them to return it for a full refund or store credit," the pages add, directing shoppers with further queries to its customer care teams.
The notice concludes: "The safety and satisfaction of our customers is important to us, and we wish to thank you for your cooperation and apologise for any inconvenience."
