Chennai Super Kings (CSK) veteran wicketkeeping batsman Mahendra Singh Dhoni (Mahendra Singh Dhoni) has clarified his retirement with this tournament after the match against Gujarat Titans. Dhoni clearly stated that he would take some time and after the next few months will decide whether he will be available for the next season of IPL. CSK defeated Gujarat to end the IPL 2025 season with a win.
Dhoni has been discussed several times about his retirement from IPL, but Mahi said that he has a long time to take a decision in this regard. Dhoni was commanding Chennai under the leadership of CSK regular captain Rituraj Gaikwad. CSK’s performance under Dhoni was not good this season and the team could win only four matches out of 14.
This was the last match of CSK this season and everyone’s eyes were on Dhoni what he announces about his future. After the match, commentator Harsha Bhogle asked Dhoni about this, on which Mahi said that there is no hurry to take a decision in this regard. Dhoni said that every year he has to make 50 percent more efforts to keep his body fit so that he can play in the IPL.
Dhoni said that he will now go back to his house and enjoy riding a bike, after which he will take a decision about IPL. However, Dhoni did not say anything about that he will not play in the IPL anymore or will return the next season again. Dhoni said, it depends. I will say the same. I have four-five months to make a decision. There is no hurry to decide what to do. Every year, 50% more efforts have to be made to keep the body fit.
He said, if cricketers start retiring on the basis of performance, very few of them will retire at the age of 22. It is important to see how much hunger and fitness you have and how much you can contribute to the team, do the team need you. I have a lot of time. I will go back to Ranchi, I have not gone home for a long time. I will enjoy some bike ride and then take a decision after a few months. I am not saying that my work is complete and at the same time I am not even doing that I will come back. I have time.
