If Raya was to be interested in a move back to his home country, it would leave the Gunners with a task on their hands to replace him. However, it is claimed by the tabloid that is on radar.

Martinez made just 38 appearances for Arsenal and he was largely forced into loan moves to find regular football. Eventually he was sold to Aston Villa in 2020 and in the West Midlands he would become the world's best goalkeeper and helped lead his country to World Cup glory.

This season has been mixed for Martinez but it was expected that due to his contract running until 2029 that he would be there for the long haul. However, this was thrown into doubt after the Argentine bid an emotional goodbye to the supporters at Villa Park following the victory over Tottenham Hotspur.

He has since been linked with Manchester United and Atletico Madrid. Now, it seems that Arsenal could have entered the race for the shot stopper.

"I love everything about Arsenal," Martinez said back in 2021. "I still love them and I'm still watching the games, but I just felt like they didn't trust me like they should have.

"That's the reality because they kept buying goalkeepers to go in front of me and I was the goalkeeper from the academy.

"They couldn't guarantee me the games I needed so I thought that if they couldn't guarantee me the games I needed, then I'm moving on. "They didn't say to me that I wasn't going to play, they just didn't guarantee me the games that I wanted to play.

"So, after 10 years, I decided to leave, and it was very difficult. "My family didn't understand why I was leaving when I was at such a good level at Arsenal, but it was my decision to leave and I'm really proud I did it.

"It was a gamble, but I always believe that if you stay in the comfort zone, you will never reach anything in life. "I decided to take the step up."
