Chahal's Absence Affects Punjab Kings

Yuzvendra Chahal, the star spinner for Punjab Kings, was unable to participate in the match against Delhi Capitals due to an injury. This information was shared by Sunil Joshi, the assistant coach of Punjab.

On Saturday, Punjab Kings faced a 6-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals in Jaipur. The absence of Chahal was notably felt during the match. In the post-match press conference, Joshi revealed that the 34-year-old spinner was sidelined due to pain.

While the assistant coach refrained from disclosing the severity of Chahal's injury, it was evident on the field that Punjab's spin department lacked strength without him. Sunil Joshi mentioned, 'Yuzvendra Chahal is experiencing some pain, which is why we decided to rest him. That was the plan.'

Praveen Dubey stepped in as Chahal's replacement but struggled to make an impact, conceding 20 runs in just 2 overs.

Punjab Kings are set to play their final league match against Mumbai Indians on Monday. A victory in this match, along with favorable outcomes in other games, could see Punjab secure a spot in the playoffs among the top two teams.
