New Delhi. The central government brought the Unified Pension Scheme i.e. UPS in April for its employees. Central employees under the National Pension Scheme i.e. NPS can go to UPS. There is also more benefit than NPS in UPS. Central government employees have been given a deadline till 30 June 2025 to shift from NPS to UPS. During this period, if the UPS is not shifted, the concerned employee of the Central Government will be kept under the NPS. The central government has laid down some conditions to shift from NPS to UPS. In UPS, those central employees may shift, who were in NPS on 1 April 2025. Central employees who retired for 10 years and retired on 31 March 2025 can also shift to UPS. Before going to UPS, the spouse of central employees with NPS can also take pension under UPS. At the same time, the Fundamental Rules have retired under 56 (J) and former central government employees coming under the purview of NPS will also be entitled to pension under UPS.

To shift to UPS, the employees coming to the central government job on or after 1 April 2025 will have to fill Form A-1. Whereas, central employees working before this date will have to fill Form A-2. These forms www.npscra.nsdl.co.in Are on Those who can submit offline and online. A receipt will be given on submission of form. Under UPS, employees who have completed 25 years job will get 50 percent pension of the last 12 months average basic salary. At the same time, there is a provision to give 10,000 rupees every month to central employees doing minimum service of 10 years. In which DA will also be given from time to time. In this way, UPS is more profitable than NPS. There was no option of stable pension in NPS.
