In order to increase pedestrian safety and reduce traffic congestion brought on by people walking on the roads, the Noida Authority will install a number of measures along the roadways in Sectors 62 and 63, Chhijarsi village, authorities said on Sunday. According to Noida Authority authorities, the Sector 63 road, which parallels the Delhi-Meerut Expressway, would be enlarged up to the Chhijarsi crossroads and beautified. To choose a contractor for the job, a bid of Rs 6.5 crore has been put out.
This project is a component of the authority’s ambition to create a model mobility corridor between the Mamura tri-section and the Sector 62 roundabout, which will be 3.5 kilometers long. The corridor’s goal is to alleviate local traffic jams. According to HT sources, four agencies have allegedly shown interest in a road widening and upgrading procurement that was released earlier this year, said Vijay Rawal, general manager of the Noida authority.
The Circular Skywalk in Sector 62
To handle the millions of people that utilize National Highway-9 (Delhi-Meerut Expressway) every day, the Noida Authority also intends to build a circular skywalk in Sector 62.
To provide easy access for pedestrians, the roundabout-shaped skywalk will include elevators on two corners along the NH-9 side and escalators on two corners along the Noida side. The detailed project report (DPR) and design for the structure, which is anticipated to cost about Rs 40 crore, have been finalized by the Noida Authority, authorities said.
According to the HT article, Rawal said, “The proposed skywalk will have a circumference of approximately 400 meters and will be covered with an iron sheet to protect pedestrians from the sun and rain.”
Passengers coming from all directions would be able to enter the circular skywalk with ease. According to authorities, the new building would include an existing foot overbridge that commuters from Ghaziabad use to get straight to Noida.
