The five-match Test series between India and England, which starts on June 20, is less than a month away. In only twenty-five days, this massive series will begin. For both sides, it is the opening series of the 2025–2027 Test cycle.

On Saturday, May 24, the BCCI named a total of 18 players for the Indian Test squad in this series. However, England just finished their lone Test match against Zimbabwe. Following the conclusion of the event, Indian cricket players who are now occupied with IPL matches will go for England.

India will start the series with a whole new team this season. The youthful Indian squad will find it very difficult to compete on English fields. It is questionable whether they will be able to compete with England at all.

Shubman Gill has been appointed the new captain of the Indian Test squad after Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirement from Test cricket. The vice-captain will be wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant. However, Ben Stokes’s leadership of the England squad makes them seem formidable. That team’s players are focused on winning the series and have been playing well lately.
