Suryakumar Yadav has been phenomenal in IPL 2025 and sustained his good form against Punjab Kings in a must win clash at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur. He has consistently scored over 25 runs in each of the league matches this season. With his latest inning, he now surpassed Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most runs in a single season of IPL for Mumbai Indians (MI).
Mumbai Indians' legendary player Sachin Tendulkar had scored 618 runs in IPL 2010, and his record lasted for 15 years. But now, Suryakumar Yadav surpassed it, making 640* runs in the 2025 season.
Suryakumar had previously approached this record in 2023 when he had scored 605 runs. Now, in 2025, he has made it happen. This season is also special for him as he led MI for the first time in the first match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

With 640 runs to his name, Suryakumar Yadav is third in the list of leading run-scorers in IPL 2025 as of match 69. He has also delivered some of his best under-pressure knocks this season. His latest excellent show of 57 (39) against Punjab Kings at Sawai Mansingh Stadium again reasserted his value to the team.
His innings of 57 which comprised of six fours and two sixes, helped Mumbai Indians to reach 184-7 in their allotted 20 overs. He was assisted. (17), Hardik Pandya (26) and Naman Dhir (20) played quick cameos to assist the deputy of MI in posting a competitive total.
