Ration Card e-KYC Marathi News: Ration card is a lifeline for millions of families in India. It not only guarantees a cheap or free food, but is also an essential document to avail of government schemes. But now there is a big news for ration card holders. The government has implemented a new rule to make the ration distribution system more transparent. Under this, all ration card holders will have to complete the e-KVC process of their ration card by June 1. If this work is not done on time, the name can be removed from the ration card and the free or cheap ration available can be stopped.
The goal of the government is to strengthen the ration distribution system. Many times it has been shown that some people incorrectly take advantage of the ration card, such as making fake cards or taking rations despite being ineligible. In addition, in many cases, it has been shown that even after the death of the people, the members of their family continue to take advantage of their name. The government has made e-KVC compulsory to stop this.
This procedure is performed by Aadhaar card, in which the ration card holder and all the members of his family are identified. E-KVC will ensure that the benefits of ration will only reach the right and needy people. The government had earlier fixed the last date on March 7, but many people felt technical problems and lack of information. Therefore, it has now been extended till June 1.
E-kavi for ration card holders is not a complex process. It can be completed both offline and online. For the offline process, you will need to visit the nearest ration shop or the Common Service Center (CSC). There you will have to keep your ration card and all the family members Aadhaar. Your biometric verification (such as a toe impression or face scanning) will be done by the POS machine in the ration shop. After that your ration card will be linked to the base.
For online processing, you can use apps like ‘Mera Ration’ or ‘Aadhaar Face RD’. Download these apps from the Google Play Store, enter your Aadhaar number and complete the verification via OTP. Then complete the procedure by turning on the camera for face scanning. This method is simple for those who are a little familiar with technology.
If you do not do e-KYC till June 1, it can have serious consequences. First, your ration card may be canceled or inactive. This means that you will stop getting a free or cheap ration. In addition, the names of those who have not done KYC can be excluded from the beneficiary list, which will make it difficult to avail of government schemes. If the ration card is canceled, you will have to apply to the Food Department to reactivate it, which may take both time and effort.
