Sandeep Reddy Vanga 's upcoming film Spirit is back in the headlines, this time, after reports indicated that actress Deepika Padukone exited the project.
Months after news broke of Deepika's casting opposite Prabhas in the upcoming film, reports over the weekend seemed to suggest that her departure was due to her discomfort with shooting an explicit scene in the film. While there has been no official confirmation behind the reason for the exit, Vanga's tweet on Monday night confirmed buzz about bad blood being spilled behind the scenes.
According to the latest buzz, the director seemed to have unfollowed Deepika on Instagram. While it has not been confirmed if the director followed DP, she is not among the 69 celebs he follows at the moment. Her husband, Ranveer Singh , however, still appears on Vanga's list.
In a tweet on Monday night, Vanga alleged 'dirty PR games' at play involving his film. Without taking any names, he wrote, "When I narrate a story to an actor, I place 100% faith. There is an unsaid NDA(Non Disclosure Agreement) between us. But by doing this, You've 'DISCLOSED' the person that you are... Putting down a Younger actor and ousting my story? Is this what your feminism stands for? As a filmmaker, I put years of hard work behind my craft & for me, filmmaking is everything. You didn't get it. You won't get it. You will never get it. Aisa karo... Agli baar poori kahani bolna... kyunki mujhe jarra bhi farak nahi padtha. #dirtyPRgames I like this kahawath very much."
Following Deepika's exit, rising star Triptii Dimri has been confirmed as the female lead in Spirit. Dimri's fee for the role is reported to be Rs 4 crore, which is significantly lower than the Rs 20 crore reportedly demanded by Deepika. The new mom had also reportedly set down a list of conditions including working hours and a share in the film's profits.
