Many times scammers and thugs take wrong advantage of you by using Aadhaar details and the Aadhaar card holder is not aware of this. In such a situation, it becomes very challenging to keep your Aadhaar safe.

To prevent the misuse of Aadhaar card, an online tool has been provided by UIDAI. By using this, you can prevent your Aadhaar from being misused. You can also find out where and when your Aadhaar number has been used.

You can use myAadhaar portal to prevent misuse of Aadhaar card. With the help of a facility called 'Authentication History' on this portal, you can know every detail about the Aadhaar card and avoid getting into trouble.

By visiting myAadhaar portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in, after entering your Aadhaar number and captcha code, an OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, with the help of which you can log in. After the portal opens, you can go to 'Authentication History' and find out where and when your Aadhaar number was used.

If you see any suspicious activity, you can lodge a complaint by calling UIDAI's helpline 1947 or by sending an email to help@uidai.gov.in. Apart from this, to prevent misuse of Aadhaar, you can also lock Aadhaar biometric so that no one can misuse your fingerprint and iris scan without your permission.
