CLAT UG Counselling 2025: An important update has come for the candidates participating in the undergraduate counseling process of the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2025. The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has released the first provisional allotment list of CLAT UG Counselling 2025 today, 26 May 2025.

Candidates who have participated in the counseling process of CLAT 2025 can now check their seat allotment information by visiting the official website consortiumofnlus.ac.in.

CLAT UG Counselling 2025: Details of Admission Process and Options
The admission counselling process of CLAT UG 2025 will be conducted in a total of three phases. Candidates whose names have appeared in the first allotment list can choose the ‘Freeze’, ‘Float’, or ‘Exit’ option as per their choice and pay a non-refundable confirmation fee of Rs 20,000 by May 30.

Freeze option: If the candidate is satisfied with the allotted seat and does not want to participate in any further rounds, he can choose the ‘Freeze’ option. This means that the candidate accepts that seat and will not claim any other seat in the future.

Float option: If the candidate has not got his first choice NLU yet, but wants to wait for a better option in the further rounds, he can choose the ‘Float’ option. This will keep his current seat reserved, but he will have a chance of getting a higher-priority seat in the next round.

Exit option: If a candidate wants to completely withdraw from the counselling process, he can choose the ‘Exit’ option. If the candidate has already selected the 'Freeze' or 'Float' option and then 'Exits', his seat will be given to another candidate and the confirmation fee deposited will be forfeited.

Deposit fee by May 30 for seat confirmation

It has been clarified by the Council that the candidates who have received seat allotment will have to pay the confirmation fee by May 30, 2025. In case of non-payment of fees on time, the seat allotment may be canceled.

Allotment received as per preference list

It has already been clarified by the Council that candidates will be allotted seats only in those NLUs that they have included in their preference list.

"If a candidate has given only 15 preferences, then he will be allotted seats only in those 15 NLUs, even if seats are vacant in other NLUs and he is eligible as per merit," - stated in the counselling notice.
