Mani Ratnam, the director of Chennai Ace, has now denied industry rumors and press reports that he would be working on a love film with Rukmini Vasanth and Telugu actor Naveen Polishetty in the key roles.
In a video interview with a film journalist, Mani Ratnam was questioned about rumors that he will start working on a lighthearted love movie with the Telugu actor after the premiere of his next movie, “Thug Life,” which is set for June 5.
“Even that is news to me,” the renowned filmmaker chuckled. “I have no clue what you are talking about,” he continued.

The filmmaker is now occupied with the promotion of his next movie, Thug Life, which stars Kamal Haasan. Actors Silambarasan, Trisha, Joju George, Ashok Selvan, and Abhirami will also play important parts in the movie.
Director Mani Ratnam’s production company, Madras Talkies, characterized the film, in which Kamal Haasan portrays Rangaraya Sakthivel Naickan, as “an epic tale of power, rebellion, and triumph.”
A R Rahman composed the soundtrack for the movie, while Ravi K Chandran did the photography. Sreekar Prasad, Mani Ratnam’s go-to editor, edited it, while Anbariv, the stuntmaster, did the stunts.
Thug Life, which is being produced by the industry titans Red Giant Movies, Madras Talkies, and Raaj Kamal Films International, will be released in theaters on June 5 of this year. In the Telugu states, the film will be released by N Sudhakar Reddy of Sreshth Movies.
