E-Counseling Process for IIMC Admissions

New Delhi. The Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC), one of the country's leading media education institutions, will commence its e-counseling process for an MA program and five postgraduate diploma courses on May 28, 2025. Students with a valid CUET-PG score can register for e-counseling by visiting https://iimc.admissions.nic.in. The registration fee is set at ₹1500 for the general category and ₹1000 for EWS/OBC/SC/ST/PH categories. The last date for registration is June 8.

According to the admission in-charge, Prof. (Dr.) Rakesh Goswami, this year, IIMC has opened its doors to candidates from various fields beyond just mass communication and journalism. He mentioned that applicants with CUET-PG scores in subjects like Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security (MTQP 04), Computer Science and Information Technology (SCQP 09), and Applied Arts (HUQP 03) can apply for the new MA program in New Media Communication.

Similarly, candidates with CUET-PG scores in Economics and Commerce can apply for the new PG diploma courses in Corporate Communication and Brand Management launched at IIMC Dhenkanal. However, for courses like English Journalism, Hindi Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations, and Radio and Television Journalism, only candidates with CUET-PG scores in mass communication and journalism will be eligible.

Prof. Goswami advised candidates to carefully read all instructions while filling out the registration form and to accurately list their course and campus preferences. Once submitted, changes to preferences will not be accepted. To confirm their selected course, candidates must pay an advance tuition fee of ₹20,000, with the remaining fees due within the specified timeframe to complete the admission process.

He also noted that there is no age limit for admission to MA programs. However, candidates are encouraged to read the instructions regarding age limits for diploma programs before registration.

Prof. Goswami further stated that all candidates must verify their date of birth through a high school certificate and submit their final undergraduate mark sheet. Those awaiting their final undergraduate results must submit the relevant documents by the specified date.

If candidates from reserved categories cannot present their caste certificates immediately, they may submit a self-declaration (undertaking) at the time of admission and provide the caste certificate within the stipulated time.

The registration process for the MA in Media Business Studies and MA in Strategic Communication will be announced soon. Candidates are advised to regularly check the IIMC website for further details regarding the admission process.
