This revelation led to his father, Lalu Prasad Yadav, expelling him from the party for a duration of six years, citing a lack of moral integrity in his personal affairs. In light of these events, Anushka's brother, Akash Yadav, has publicly addressed the situation.

Akash Yadav expressed his thoughts, stating, 'This is a matter of privacy between a man and a woman. It would be more appropriate for them to discuss this directly.' He criticized those who have attempted to tarnish his sister's reputation, urging Lalu Prasad Yadav to avoid letting external influences disrupt his family. He remarked on the irony of Tej Pratap's expulsion, noting that he was once a strong supporter of his brother's political ambitions.

In a report, Akash clarified that there is no official confirmation regarding whether Tej Pratap and Anushka are married, emphasizing that this is a personal issue. He mentioned, 'Anushka is currently at home, and it would be best if she addressed this herself.'

On the topic of Tej Pratap's removal from the RJD, Akash condemned the decision, questioning whether Tej Pratap had committed any serious wrongdoing. He pointed out that while they have little to lose, Tejashwi Yadav has much at stake. Akash also highlighted Anushka's lineage, noting that she is the granddaughter of a notable freedom fighter, which adds to their family's social standing.

The controversy began with a Facebook post from Tej Pratap, which claimed a long-term relationship with Anushka Yadav. In the post, he stated, 'The person in this picture is Anushka Yadav. We have been in love for the past 12 years.' Shortly after, he alleged that his account had been hacked, claiming an attempt to defame him and his family. Following this, Lalu Prasad announced his son's expulsion from both the party and the family, labeling him as 'irresponsible.'

In 2018, Tej Pratap filed for divorce from Aishwarya Rai just months after their wedding. Aishwarya subsequently accused him of various forms of abuse, and the case is still pending in family court.
