An ITV Lorraine star couldn't resist taking a playful dig at Meghan Markle mere moments into the programme.
As the show moved to its Hollywood segment, LA correspondent Ross King interjected with his "shocking news".
He proceeded to chat about Meghan's decision to scale back on her earlier product ventures.
"Let's not mention jam, let's say it was spread," he cheekily started, referencing the Duchess' famed jams that flew off the shelves within minutes of their debut.
Ross then joked: "Meghan Markle spread... That in itself sounds somewhat ruder than I thought it was going to be."
Continuing his commentary, Ross noted the mystery surrounding the actual sales figures of her spread, adding: "Well done, she sold out, but here is the bit of sad news that I bring to the world this morning."
With Lorraine heard chuckling in the background, Ross informed viewers: "You might not be able to get it ever again."
He quipped that the news was hardly earth-shattering and elaborated that Meghan had teased new ventures beyond jam.
The April launch of Meghan's As Ever brand saw products like jam, honey, and herbal teas sell out in 45 minutes.
However, in the last instalment of her podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan revealed her intention to "step back, gather data from the launch, and figure out exactly what As Ever could be."
She elaborated: "I want to really focus on the hospitality angle of As Ever, but as we take the learnings, we can understand what the customer's needs are seasonally."
Meghan revealed her heartfelt connection to her domestic life, stating, "My heart is very deeply in my home. Everything comes from being rooted in the love story of your home and garden, and then you can imagine different verticals coming out of that."
She also hinted at future fashion ventures in an interview, noting, "Fashion is a category I plan to explore down the line because I find it to be an interesting space for me."
According to Fast Company, she expressed uncertainty about her professional label: "If I had to write a resume, I don't know what I would call myself."
Her As Ever website also showcased rapid sales, with her $12 Herbal Lemon Ginger Tea and $15 Flower Sprinkles selling out swiftly, alongside shortbread and crepe mixes, tantalisingly teasing "more coming soon".
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV1 and ITVX.
